We have all heard of the little black dress. In fact we all own one. Summer-2011 has changed the color of that "little dress" to all shades of white. Walking in any of the malls and boutiques in Austin, the 16-60 age group are buying the white dress as fast as they can. "I am out shopping with all of my friends. There are five of us. I know that one of us is going to buy that dress," explains Dee Dee Ramirez, a junior at UT. Having fun shopping is one thing. "It's a mission to find that special little white dress," adds Vikki Ness, one of the shopping companions of Ramirez.
Observing one shade of white to another, becomes a "chore." Mulberry Tote Bags The UT students agreed. "Not only is the shade of white important, but the fabric. We love lace and cotton." The middle agers go for the "designer look" that can be transformed into evening attire by throwing on the right accessories. At Claire's, the sales staff has seen a rise in long, gold earrings and pink pearls. Use your imagination and put together the look that is right for you.
"Many women feel that they do not look good in white. Those customers do not want white-white, but a softer white. One that enhances their coloring and makes them reach the desired look of chic and sexy this summer." Ali Whickover, a boutique owner explains the psychology of wearing white in Austin. " We are known for wearing black. As is New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and most of the larger United States' cities. Going from one end of the spectrum to the other, is radical for some customers. Yet, because it is Austin, it is a much easier sell."
Look around you. The crisp color of white is in the air. It is not just for "brides" this summer." It is the season of peace, and we all get to be the bride for a while," adds a Nordstrom's buyer. Have fun finding your "little white dress." Join the movement and have Mulberry Factory Shop a white summer, for a change.
